Frequently asked questions
What areas do you deliver mulch to?
We deliver garden mulch across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region, including surrounding areas such as Rangiora, Rolleston, Kaiapoi, Lincoln, and Prebbleton. Essentially if the delivery cost calculator gives you a delivery price - then we can delivery to you.
How quickly can mulch be delivered?
Most orders are delivered within 1–3 working days. Occasionally depending on our schedule and your location delivery may take a little longer. You can include preferred delivery days or times in your order notes, and we will do our best to accommodate.
What type of mulch do you supply?
We supply premium aged arborist mulch. Our mulch is processed and turned for a minimum of 8 weeks to create a stable, nutrient-rich product suitable for garden use.
Why is aged mulch better than fresh mulch?
Aged mulch is more stable and safer for plants. Fresh mulch can generate heat, remove nitrogen from the soil, and introduce pest species and disease into your garden. Aged mulch is cooler, easier to spread, and starts improving soil health immediately without the risk of introducing unwanted pests.
How much mulch do I need?
As a general guide, 1m³ of mulch will cover approximately 10m² at a depth of 100mm. For example, a 6m³ load will cover around 60m². Coverage may vary depending on how thick you apply the mulch and the condition of the area.
What is the maximum order size?
The maximum order size is 6m³ per purchase. This is the largest load our truck can deliver in one run. If you require more mulch, you can place multiple orders.
Where will the mulch be placed?
Mulch is delivered using a tipping truck and will be placed in your driveway or the closest safe and accessible area. Please include any specific delivery instructions at checkout.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
No, you do not need to be home as long as clear delivery instructions are provided when placing your order.
Is your mulch safe for plants?
Yes, our mulch is aged and processed to be safe for use around plants, trees, and garden beds.
Can you tip mulch over a fence or in a specific spot?
We will always aim to place the mulch as close as possible to your requested location, however access limitations may apply and we cant tip over fences. If you have specific requirements, please include details when ordering.
How thick should mulch be applied?
For best results, mulch should be applied at a depth of approximately 75–100mm. This helps with moisture retention, weed suppression, and soil protection.
What is mulch made from?
Our mulch is made from locally sourced arborist wood chips, giving new life to green waste from tree work and turning it into a useful garden product.
